This week I traveled to the World Police and Fire Games in Vancouver,
BC
. What a great opportunity and privelage it was to be the
chiropractor for such high class athletes. It's amazing how men and
women that have full-time work serving their country as police and
fire still excelled in their sports. It simply shows the hard work and
dedication they make daily to become more than just "doing their job".

I always enjoy hanging around people that are successful, work hard,
and expect the best. I truly feel that it brings myself to a higher
level. I suggest that if you are hanging with those that are always
negative to find new friends!   But I got to step back and observe the
athletes that won medals consistently, the ones that everyone else
were afraid of.  I noticed that every single one of them had serious
laser beam focus and intensity. You could easily see it in their eyes,
posture, and voice. They avoided the other athletes, iPod in, paced up
and down the track, didn't talk or laugh and went into their sport
with one thing on their mind...to win.  The other athletes noticed
this as well- some joked about it, some intimidated by it. One thing
was for sure they made their presence known, and losing was not an
option.

I once read an article about Tiger Woods and a secret to his success.
Tiger said that he walks onto the course knowing that he is going to
win. No one is going to beat him, he is simply the best. He has
complete focus on his own game and cares nothing about every one
elses'.  He knows that if he concentrates on playing his own game to
his potential every other player will crumble around him.
Intimidation, intensity, strength?

Whether you are a world class athlete or a high school student are you
walking into your life with the same level of focus and intensity?
Are you looking for ways that you will fail, how someone else is doing
a better job than you, how that sale is too difficult to pay off, how
your kids are behind in class?  Or are you expecting world class
success
?  Do you know it in you heart that you are the best at that
you do?  No on can beat you. No one can do what you do better. Every
one else around you shivers when you walk in the room. You are the
champ.

Go for the "gold" in everything you do.
